How do I play with my friends when using the Virtual Room? Do all games support it?
For couch cooperative games, i.e. multiple gamers in the same room, the option to create Virtual Rooms that can be shared with friends is offered. Once everybody is in the room, you will be able to play the same game together.
In order to access the Virtual Room, a series of requirements must be met:
- It can only be accessed from a Windows device, whose application must be installed on all players' devices. The Virtual Room is therefore not available on Android or HTML5 (iOS) devices yet.
- Not all available games share this functionality.
How do I know which games do have the Virtual Room option?
- On the home page, you will see that there is a 'Virtual Room' section.
- You will also be able to filter this option through the games search engine, where you will have to select 'Multiplayer'.
- When you click on 'Play', and if the game has this functionality, a 'Virtual Room' option will appear. In addition, the maximum number of players will appear on the game's page.
How to play in the Virtual Room?
The first requirement is that one of the players must be the 'Host' of the game. This player is the one who must open the game before the others by clicking on 'in the Virtual Room'.
The game will not open automatically, but the waiting room will appear.
The Host must share the room code or the link to the other players.
Once these steps have been completed, the Host must wait for the other players to join, and then click on 'Play now'. Remember that it is very important that all players join at this time, otherwise they will not be able to join the game later.
To join a room:
- If the user has the link, everything is already handled automatically, and the Windows application opens in the waiting room.
- If the user does not have the link, he/she can enter the code in the Virtual Room section and click on the 'Enter Virtual Room' button.
WARNING: The Virtual Room section may not appear if the user logs in from an unsupported device (such as Mac OS X, iPhone or Android).
